Privacy Policy

We take data protection seriously

Protecting our customers' privacy while processing and using their personal data is an extremely important issue for us. When you visit our website, our web servers automatically record the IP address of your Internet service provider, the website from which you access our website, the pages on our website that you actually look at and the date and duration of your visit. This information is essential for technical reasons in order to ensure correct transmission of our web pages and secure operation of the servers. No personalized evaluation of this data takes place.

If you send us data via our contact form, this data will be stored on our servers in the course of data backup. Your data will be used by us exclusively for the purpose of processing your request. Your data will be treated in strict confidentiality and will not be passed on to third parties.

Personal data

Personal data is data about your person. This includes your name, your address and your e-mail address. You do not have to provide any personal information in order to visit our website. In some cases we do need your name, address and some other pieces of information in order to provide you with the service you want.

The same applies if you ask us to send you information materials or to answer your enquiries. In such cases we will always point this out to you. Furthermore, we only store data that you have transmitted to us automatically or voluntarily.

If you use one of our services, we usually collect only the data necessary to provide you with this service. We may ask you for further information, but its provision is on a purely voluntary basis. Whenever we process personal data, we do so in order to provide you with our services or to pursue our commercial goals.

Automatically stored data

Server log files

The provider of the website pages automatically collects and stores information in what are called "server log files", which your browser automatically transmits to us. This information comprises the following:

  • date and time of the request
  • name of the requested file
  • page from which the file was requested
  • access status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • web browser and operating system used
  • complete IP address of the requesting computer
  • volume of data transferred

This data will not be merged with data from other sources. Processing is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (1), Point (f) of GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website.

For reasons of technical security, in particular to prevent attempts to attack our web servers, we store this data for a short period of time. It is not possible for us to identify individual persons on the basis of this data. After seven days at the latest, the data is anonymized at domain level by shortening the IP address, so that it is no longer possible to make a connection to an individual user. In this anonymized form, the data is also processed for statistical purposes. No part of this data is collated with other data or passed on to third parties. The only information released is the number of page views taken from our server statistics, which we publish every two years in our activity report.

Cookies

When you visit our website, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small files that are transferred from an internet server (website) to your browser and are stored on its hard drive. In our case, these files contain only the Internet Protocol address (IP address) – no personal data. This information that is stored in the cookies enables our server to automatically recognize you the next time you visit our website, making the website easier for you to use. The legal basis for the use of cookies is the legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1), Point (f) of GDPR.

Of course, you can also visit our website without accepting cookies. If you do not want your computer to be recognized the next time you visit, you can block the storage of cookies on your computer by changing the settings in your browser to "Block cookies". If you are not sure how to do this, read the user guide or use Help function of your browser. However, if you block the use of cookies, there may be restrictions affecting the use of some areas of our website.

Google Tag Manager

This website uses Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager does not collect personal data. The tool triggers other tags that may themselves collect data. Google Tag Manager does not access such data. If the tool has been deactivated at domain or cookie level, this deactivation will remain in place for all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager. Google's privacy policy relating to this tool can be found here: https://www.google.de/tagmanager/use-policy.html

Google Analytics with anonymization function

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, located at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, hereinafter referred to as "Google", on our website. Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how you use the site.

The information generated by these cookies (such as the time, place and frequency of your website visit, including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google in the United States.

We use Google Analytics on our website with the extension "_gat._anonymizeIp". In this case, your IP address will be truncated by Google while it is still within the area of Member States of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and thereby anonymized.

Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for us and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf.

By its own account, Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website.

Google also offers a opt-out add-on for the most popular browsers, which gives you more control over what information Google collects about the websites you visit. The add-on tells the JavaScript (ga.js) of Google Analytics that no information about your website visits should be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analytics services we may use. For more information on installing the browser add-on, click the link below: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

If you visit our site using a mobile device (smartphone or tablet), you must instead click this link to prevent Google Analytics from tracking your activities on this website in the future. This is also possible as an alternative to the browser add-on described above. By clicking this link, an opt-out cookie is set in your browser that is only valid for this browser and in this domain. If you delete the cookies in this browser, the opt-out cookie will also be deleted, so you will have to click the link again.

If you have agreed to allow Google to link your web and app browsing history to your Google Account and to use information from your Google Account to personalize ads, Google will use your information in conjunction with Google Analytics data to create cross-device remarketing audience lists. Google Analytics first collects your Google-authenticated ID on our website, which is linked to your Google Account (i.e. personal data). Google Analytics will then temporarily associate your ID with your Google Analytics data to optimize our target audiences.

If you do not consent to this, you can deactivate it by making the appropriate settings in the "Your account" section of your Google Account.

DoubleClick by Google

DoubleClick by Google is a service provided by Google Inc., located at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). DoubleClick by Google uses cookies to show you advertisements that are relevant to you. A pseudonymous identification number (ID) is assigned to your browser in order to check which advertisements have been displayed in your browser and which ads you have clicked. The cookies do not contain any personal information. All that DoubleClick cookies do is allow Google and its affiliates to display ads based on previous visits to our or other websites on the internet. The information generated by the cookies are transmitted to and stored by Google on a server in the United States. Google complies with the privacy principles of the U.S. Privacy Shield Agreement and is registered with the U.S. Department of Commerce's Privacy Shield program. Google transfers data to third parties only on the basis of statutory provisions or in the context of commissioned data processing. Under no circumstances will Google associate your data with other data collected by Google.

By using our website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website. You can also opt out from being tracked and your data processed by Google with effect for the future by downloading and installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on for your browser. The link currently valid is: Link. Alternatively, you can also deactivate the DoubleClick cookies by means of this opt-out.

YouTube in enhanced data protection mode

We use the video-sharing service YouTube to integrate videos into our website. The videos have been embedded in enhanced data protection mode. Like most websites, YouTube uses cookies to collect information about visitors to its web pages. YouTube uses this information to collect video statistics, prevent fraud and improve usability, among other things. This also leads to a connection being made to the Google DoubleClick network. When you start a video, this may trigger further data processing. We have no control over this. Further information on data privacy and protection at YouTube can be found in YouTube's Privacy Policy under: http://www.youtube.com/t/privacy_at_youtube

Customer account

For each customer who registers, we set up direct, password-protected access to their data stored on our system, that is, a customer account. In this account, you can view all relevant data about your completed, open and recently shipped purchase orders and manage your address data, bank details and newsletter subscription. You undertake to keep your personal access data confidential and to ensure that no unauthorised third parties can gain access to it. We cannot assume any liability for misuse of passwords, unless we are responsible for such misuse.

We have integrated a "Stay logged in" option in order to make our website as pleasant an experience as possible. This feature allows you to use our services without having to log in again each time. For security reasons, however, you will be requested to enter your password again if, for example, you want to change your personal data or place an order. We recommend that you do not use this feature if your computer is used by multiple users. We would like to point out that the "Stay logged in" feature will not function if you have set your browser to automatically delete stored cookies after each session.

Security

We have taken technical and administrative security precautions to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorized access. All of our employees and service providers who work for us are obliged to comply with the applicable data protection laws.

Whenever we collect and process personal data, it is encrypted before it is transmitted. This means that your data cannot be misused by third parties. Our security precautions are subject to a continuous improvement process and our Privacy Policy to continuous review. Please make sure that you have the latest version.

Individual rights

You have the right at any time to request access to and the correction, deletion or restriction of the processing of your stored data. You also have the right to object to the processing of your data, the right to data portability and the right to complain in accordance with the requirements of the data privacy laws.

Right of access:
You may request information from us as to whether and to what extent we process your data.

Right to rectification:

If we process your data in an incomplete or inaccurate form, you may at any time request that we correct or complete it.

Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten"):

You may request that we erase your data if we process it unlawfully or if the processing disproportionately interferes with your legitimate privacy interests. Please note that there may be reasons that prevent an immediate erasure, e.g. in the case of statutory obligations to retain data.

Irrespective of you exercising your right to erasure, we will erase your data immediately and completely insofar as there is no legal or statutory obligation to retain data in this respect.

Right to restrict processing: You may request that we restrict the processing of your data if

  • you dispute the accuracy of the data over a period of time that allows us to verify the accuracy of the data
  • processing of the data is unlawful, but you refuse to have it deleted and instead demand restriction of its use
  • we no longer require the data for the purpose intended, but you still require this data in order to assert or defend legal claims, or
  • you have objected to processing of the data.

Right to data portability:

You may request that we provide you with the information you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and that you may transmit this information to another responsible person ("controller") without interference by us, provided that

  • we process this data on the basis of consent provided by and revocable by you or for the fulfilment of a contract between us, and
  • such processing is carried out by automated means.

If technically feasible, you may request that we transfer your data directly to another controller.

Right to object:

If we process your data for legitimate reasons, you may object to such processing at any time; this would also apply to profiling based on these provisions. We will then cease to process your data, unless we can provide compelling and legitimate grounds for processing that outweigh your interests, rights and freedoms or this processing serves the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims. You may object to the processing of your data for the purpose of direct marketing at any time without giving reasons.

Right to complain:

If you are of the opinion that we are in violation of German or European data protection laws when processing your data, we ask you to contact us in order to clarify any questions you may have. Of course, you also have the right to contact the supervisory authority responsible for you; in the case of residents of Germany, the respective state ("Land") agency responsible for supervising adherence to the data protection regulations.

If you wish to assert any of the aforementioned rights against us, please contact our data protection officer. In case of doubt, we may request additional information to confirm your identity.
